Voice Lessons for All Levels and
Beginner Piano Lessons

Voice Lessons:

Equipped with a Bachelor of Music from The Eastman School of Music, a Master of Music and Professional Studies Diploma from Manhattan School of Music,15 years of private vocal instruction experience, and 20+ years of stage performance experience, Blake has the knowledge and practical understanding to help you achieve your singing goals.  In a typical voice lesson with Blake, areas of focus include: breath and vocal technique work, singing songs and arias to strengthen technique, audition preparation, language and diction coaching, and acting and performance coaching.  Blake is comfortable teaching in many different vocal styles, from Classical to Musical Theater to Pop music and encourages all of his students to study as many different genres of singing as they are interested in.

Piano Lessons for Beginners:

While singing is Blake’s primary focus, he also has 15 years of experience teaching basic keyboard skills for children and beginning adults.  Beginning piano lessons focus on basic keyboard skills, technique, and music theory fundamentals using a hands on approach to finding comfort on the keys.  For children, Blake offers special slots of either 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour lessons depending on the student’s age and prior musical training.  For beginner adults, lessons are 1 hour and follow a similar but more accelerated curriculum.

Rates and Details:

Voice Lessons: 

$100 per hour

Piano Lessons:

For adults:

$75 per hour

 

For children (all children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian during their lesson):

 $75 for 1 hour

 $65 for 45 minutes

 $55 for 30 minutes

Lessons are held either in person at my private studio on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City, or over your favorite video conferencing software like Zoom or Facetime.

Materials: all materials required for lessons are the financial responsibility of the student.  Any extra materials such as piano books or sheet music can be provided by Blake and will require reimbursement from the student.  

 

Cancellation Policy: all lessons are subject to a 24 hour cancellation policy.  Should a student need to cancel their lesson for any reason, no charge will be incurred should they cancel at least 24 hours prior to the lesson.  Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours notice are also able to be rescheduled for a makeup lesson at a mutually convenient date/time without penalty.  For lessons cancelled within a 24 hour period, the full fee is still required for the time the student had booked and no makeup lesson will be offered.

Scholarships for Young Students:  Blake believes that music education should be accessible for all.  Please inquire about need based scholarships for your child.
